About the Competition

Alibaba Global Mathematics Competition is jointly organized by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Alibaba Foundation, and Alibaba DAMO Academy. It is open to math enthusiasts all over the world, and integrates competition, training and communication.

The goal of the competition is to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of math in the global tech community, and to facilitate math research.

Alibaba DAMO Academy seeks to serve society through inspiring a love of math and fundamental sciences. By organizing global mathematics competitions, the Academy hopes to help more young people see the beauty of mathematics and encourage them to pursue a career in it.

Alibaba is willing to contribute to expanding the role of mathematics in society, to original research and breakthroughs, and to the development of math talents.

2020 Alibaba Global Mathematics Competition

Overview

2020 Alibaba Global Mathematic Competition includes 2 qualifying rounds and 1 final round.  The finalists will be determined by the total score of the 2 qualifying rounds.

Question type

Mathematical questions that are close to real life

Competition Rules

The competition is divided into two qualifying rounds. Each of the qualifying round has 4 questions. The finalists are selected based on the total points of the two rounds.  For each of the qualifying rounds, participants will have 48 hours to answer the questions, during which they may save their answers and take a short break.

Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are supported. Adobe Flash must be enabled.

Qualifying Competition Round 1 - Ended

Qualifying Competition Round 2: 48 hours (8:00am March. 21st - 8:00am March. 23rd (GMT+8)

Final Round (Online)

The final round contains questions in the following 4 directions. Participants are encouraged to start with the directions in line with their expertise. Contestants will compete for the awards based on their total score of the four directions.

➤ Mathematical analysis & equations
➤ Applied mathematics and computational mathematics
